Ooh Imp Zagato :) these things are awesome! Like an Imp and a Fulvia had a teeny-tiny baby.

Shame they’re so rare :S

Zagato also did a little Mini-based coupé, the Mini Gatto...

(Failing that I wouldn’t mind an Ogle SX1000 - or even a Hustler!)

Ooh now that’s pretty too! Looks like a mini Flaminia Zagato :)

Either of those would be awesome as well :)

When Alfa Romeo hit their centenary a British car magazine plastered the cover of their special issue with the tongue-in-cheek headline of “100 years of Alfa: The Good, the Bad and the Zagatos”.

As I get older, however, I find myself liking Zagatos more and more (and more!). Even if their asthetics is sometimes, er... different.

Haha I don’t think the SZ did them any favours. A lot of the older Zagatos are just drop-dead gorgeous, but they do have a habit of doing some ‘out there’ designs. Especially as time wore on.

Personally I utterly adore the GT Junior Zagato. Almost bought a project one for £5k about 10 years ago. Sort of glad I didn’t as it would have bankrupted younger me, but would have been a kickass little car.

I imagine that by SZ you mean the ES30? Zagato only built and trimmed the cars. Its exterior design was actually by Robert Opron, of Citroën CX and SM fame! (I don’t dislike the SZ at all, although having seen a couple of them up close, they are pretty strange. So short!)

A couple of years ago I met a youngish guy who had already (wait for it) a Giulietta Spider (101), an S2 Spider (115) and a GT Junior Zagato. Strangely enough he had bought them all as reasonably priced cars ripe for restoration. And none of them was a basket case.

Yeah that’s the one :)

Interesting. So it’s not Zagato to blame! I don’t actively dislike them, but they’re not your classically beautiful car...

Dead jealous of that guy’s stable. Wish I’d bought a load of those a decade ago as they’re basically unattainable now. Student me could never have swung the finances though...
